1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly. When you submit a quote request, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, project ZIP code, city, street address (optional), service type (interior, exterior, cabinets, etc.), preferred timeline, project description, and your TCPA consent state. When you register as a contractor, we additionally collect your business name, CCB license number, service area ZIP codes, Google Business Profile URL, Google review URL, website URL, and SMS opt-in state.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we collect your IP address, browser user agent, referring URL, landing page path, and any UTM parameters, Google Click ID (gclid), Facebook Click ID (fbclid), or other campaign click identifiers passed in the URL. We use first-party session storage to persist these identifiers across your visit.

Information from third parties. If you submit a quote, we may receive verification signals (such as bot detection and rate-limit signals) from our anti-abuse providers. We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Qualify your project and match you with vetted Oregon painting contractors.
  • Send you transactional and account-related SMS, email, and (for homeowners only) phone communications about your request.
  • Process payments from contractors who purchase access to your lead.
  • Operate and improve our marketplace, detect fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. SMS messaging program

Stumptown Painters operates two SMS programs, one for homeowners and one for contractors. Both require an explicit, unchecked-by- default opt-in checkbox on the relevant web form before any SMS is sent. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

Homeowner SMS: We send (a) an instant confirmation when you submit a quote request, (b) a 48-hour follow-up to verify a contractor reached out, and (c) a 7 to 10 day follow-up asking for a Google review of the contractor we matched you with.

Contractor SMS:We send (a) new-lead notifications matching your service area, (b) lead-purchase confirmations with the homeowner's contact information after a successful Stripe checkout, and (c) job-completion check-ins to confirm whether a job was booked or completed.

Frequency: Message frequency varies based on account activity and typically ranges from 1 to 3 messages per recipient per lead.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out: Reply STOP to any SMS from us to immediately and permanently opt out of further messages. You may also email hmaeoregon@gmail.com with the subject line "SMS opt-out" and your phone number.

Help: Reply HELP to any SMS for assistance, or contact us at the email address above.

No third-party sharing for marketing: Mobile opt-in data and phone numbers collected for the purposes of SMS messaging are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are shared with (a) the specific contractor who purchases your lead, for the sole purpose of contacting you about your project, and (b) Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, as a processor.

4. Who we share information with

  • Matched contractors who purchase your lead receive your full contact information solely for the purpose of contacting you about your project. Contractors are bound by our Contractor Terms not to use your information for any other purpose.
  • Service providers (processors) we use to operate the Service, including Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Twilio (SMS delivery), Resend (email delivery), and OpenAI (lead-quality scoring of your free-text project description).
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stumptown Painters, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use first-party session storage to persist campaign click identifiers (UTM, gclid, fbclid) so we can attribute leads to their source. We use the Google Ads conversion tag on the page you see after a successful quote submission to report conversions to Google. We do not use third-party analytics cookies on the quote form itself.

6. Data retention

We retain lead records, qualification data, and contractor account records for as long as necessary to operate the Service and to comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion at any time by emailing the address below; we will honor verified requests within 30 days, subject to limited exceptions for records we are legally required to keep (such as transaction records for tax purposes).

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and limited internal access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hmaeoregon@gmail.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the Site.
